There lived a poor barber named Rajab in Tezpur village. He used to make people's hair. He used to support his family with the wages he got. One day the barber found a miraculous hen from somewhere. That hen used to lay a golden egg every morning.
By getting one egg every day, the barber became rich in a few days. He built a new house. His name started being discussed in the whole village. People started respecting him. One day the barber thought, "This hen lays only one golden egg every day. Why not cut its stomach and take out all the eggs together? This will give me a lot of wealth together."
Thinking this, the barber cut the hen with a sharp knife. Stomach ripped. The hen screamed loudly and after sometime she died. The barber was very surprised to see that the chickens did not have a single golden egg in their stomach! The barber was very sorry for what he had done, but what could have happened now?
Lesson: The fruit of greed is always bad
